Brightening Our Inner Skies

Brightening our Inner Skies: Yin and Yoga by Norman Blair (yes, that's me on the front cover!) This is a beautiful book about yin yoga and life's challenges and beauty. If you love yoga, get a copy!

Ashtanga Yoga: The Practice Manual

Sometimes called the "Ashtanga Bible" this amazing text by David Swenson is my 'go to' when I'm looking at a new posture in the series. Includes both Ashtanga Primary & Intermediate Series and has lots of variations.

Kitchen Table Wisdom

This is a lovely book of short stories by Rachel Naomi Remen. The stories focus on hope and the spirit of human triumph over illness and pain. I often read from this text when I'm teaching Yin classes.

Looxa Yoga Workbooks

Fantastic little workbooks with line drawings on one side of the page and then a blank page on the other -- for your notes, musings or alignment points. They have four of them: Yin, Vinyasa and Ashtanga Primary and Intermediate series. They make nice gifts too!

The Breathing Book

My favourite nugget of information given in this book by Donna Farhi (although there are many nuggets) is that types of breathing are contagious...surround yourself with peaceful calm breathers!

Body, Space, Image

A book from my days of lecturing in dance, this still has a lot to offer in my teaching of yoga. Beautiful imagery (in a poetic style) and perfect for reading in Yin class. Love!
